In this funny commercial video i am standing by ponchos confine but i am overlooking him and seeing some papers, he was trying to obtain my attention and called my name (cheryl) about 5-6 times. it is a quite hard name to say also for humans, i imagine he does a good job. He calls my name again and again to get my attention often, which leads me to consider that he has understand the meaning. For instance; if i am on stairs and he calls my name “cheryl” and then i reply back with “poncho” he again replies with “cheryl”. Then i say poncho he is not copying me and utter poncho as well, which is what you will expect from a “mimic”.

One more thing is that while i first got pocho (i set up in a newspaper advertisement when i was 13) he was staying with his earlier owners donna and robert for about 15 years (yes poncho was almost 2 years older than me!), unnecessary to say he was distress and miserable about the modification. For the first two weeks i had him the simply thing he will say was ” Robert, donna ” ” Robert, donna ” it was distressing to hear. Then after around 2-3 weeks it looks like he gave up on them as well as he has never spoken their names after that, ever! That is funny since the rest of his language remained intact. Even if i speak their names to him and also struggle to get him to say again them he will not. But, i do consider that if he sees them again he will remember them, he has an outstanding memory for definite people.
